SOJOURNER TRUTH
This excellent ministry of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and the Sisters of St. Agnes serves more than 2,100 people a month in the city of Gary, Ind., many of them women getting back on the feet after an abusive relationship.

CARMELITE HOME
The Carmelite Sisters administer a wonderful, loving facility in East Chicago, Ind., and are committed to helping children who are undergoing crises in their own homes. Many of the clients they serve are either very young children or single teenage mothers.

This is the social services agency for the Diocese of Gary, Ind. These great people provide for the physical, emotional and social needs of the poor and vulnerable in Northwest Indiana.
